No snooty wine snobs allowed - just simple, honest, unpretentious folks who enjoy wine and want to learn more about it.

During this fundraiser event for ACWI, host Leigh Older will introduce us to several fine wines, both reds and whites.

 A small admission fee of just $35.00 per person gives you an opportunity to

• find out if those pesky "rules" of pairing whites with fish and reds with beef, etc. are important
• learn about a variety of different wines - both reds and whites: learn about their subtle differences
  (like earthy undertones, smokiness, and a fruity aftertaste)
• sample some outstanding food, carefully paired with the wines

As always, Leigh Older has taken great care and planning to pair just the right foods with just the right wines.

• 5 wines (at least!)
• 5 courses. 
• Participants will be briefed on each wine and Leigh will provide a recommended course to pair it with. . but feel free to try the wines with other food items - ya never know what you might discover!
• Leigh will also provide tips and tricks on easy tools to use for pairing food and wine 'on the go'  - like when you don't have a chance to plan a meal around a few courses of wine.
•  All this for just a $35/single or $60/couple!

MENU (subject ot change, of course)

• Toast Points with Sockeye Smoked Salmon and Goat Cheese Spread paired with a Pinot Noir.
• 4 cheeses: Manchego (with and without honey), triple cream brie, aged gouda, and white aged cheddar - all paired with a variety of wines.
• Bow Tie Pasta with Pesto Sauce paired with a white, such as Albarino or Arneis from Piemonte.
• Bleu cheese Gnocci paired with Cabernet and/or Shiraz.
• Meatloaf paired with Red Zin and/or Shiraz
